CHARACTER DESIGN

Character Design is an important stage that directly affects the visual representation of the character (IP).

Each character is designed with unique features based on the brand’s personality and requirements from the studio/business/product. The character needs to successfully represent that studio/business/product.

Overview the Process of Character Design

Character design includes the following steps

Sketching the Shape: Create initial sketches of the character, defining the shape and body structure to develop the overall image.

Choosing Color Palette: Select a color palette that fits the character’s personality and emotions, creating a strong impression on viewers. For IPs representing brands/products/businesses, the color palette used for the character should match that of the brand/product/business.

Designing Outfits: Develop the character’s clothing and accessories, reflecting the style and context in which the character lives.

Defining Personality: Analyze and identify the character’s personality traits, influencing how the character is portrayed in images and situations.

Developing Character Details: Develop characters’ details like facial expressions, poses, and other distinctive elements to make the character lively and memorable.

Building a Backstory: Develop a backstory for the character, adding depth and reasons for the character’s actions.
