At HFLA, we believe storytelling lives in the very texture and movement of our craft. Our latest collaboration with a Belgian studio on the claymation short film ‘Prout’ brings this philosophy to life, receiving a warm reception from audiences and critics globally.
The Story: A planet under pressure
Obsolete household appliances and waste of all kinds are sent to the beautiful planet Prout, Earth’s dumping ground. Bean and Spaghet, two little emergency workers from this strange planet go on an emergency mission to save one of their friends who has been crushed by debris falling from the sky.
HFLA’s Craft: Bringing the world of Prout to life
We was responsible for the technical and artistic realization of the film’s physical world. Our team took charge of the essential stages that define the film’s “look and feel,” ensuring every frame met the high standards of professional stop-motion animation. Our work included:
- Pre-production: From the initial Demo phases to the intricate design of the Characters and the creation of the world’s unique Props.
- Animation Stage: Our animators breathed life into Bean, Spaghet, and their environment, navigating the meticulous and demanding process of stop-motion claymation to achieve fluid, emotive storytelling.

We are incredibly proud of the reception Prout has received at international film festivals. To date, the film has been honored with:
